Every year our family Christmas tradition is making ornaments. This year we decided on a dog theme, making ornaments from felt using a blanket stitch to sew profile together then stuffing them slightly. Porter suggested the dogs should wear Santa hats and sweaters. We also added ribbon for scarves with miniature jingle bells. Final count we made over 30 dogs of all different breeds: golden retrievers, labs, akitas, chihuahuas, dalmatians, greyhounds, shepherds and one abominable snowman dog.

As a dog lover, I love your doggie ornaments. I’d love to give that a go with my grandchildren. Did you make a Cavalier King Charles by any chance? I’d love to see it.
Iam just starting TAST and saw your post.

Thanks for the comment. I’m afraid the dogs were mainly retrievers and dalmatians, but they are a lot of fun to make and sew up quickly. Good luck!

I’m afraid this was just a project from a few years ago so I’m not making them any longer. They are fun ornaments though and turned out be great gifts! Good luck!

I just ran a Google image search for different breed profiles and made outlines from the photos. Hint: print the profiles on freezer paper, iron the freezer paper onto felt to cut them out easily.
